Proud to be an American

Our fourth of July was a little different this year. In years past we have gone to Grand Coulee, WA for the weekend. We sure did miss the trip. But we still had fun. The night before we went to our friends house (The Allens) to do some of our own fireworks. Some of the kids were still not sure of them. I was surprised in Michael he was a bit scared but tried to be brave. He would hide behind us. On the Fourth we started at the church at 8:00 am with a Waffle Stomp where we were to bring a topping for the waffles, juice, side dish, etc. Then we played Volleyball until 1pm. and yes I played hoping it would cause something to happen and this baby might decide to come a little early, but no luck. I was the only girl left playing on the floor. We had a great time and my team even won a few games. They made me a team captain. Yea for me.
We watched the fireworks on the only hill in in our part of Florida, Called Vista view. At one point it was a land fill, and now they have turned it into a park. These reformed landfills are the only hills you will find in Florida, and consequently they are where all the bikers and runners go for their workouts. From the hill we had a view of All the different fireworks from all the different cities. Because we were watching all the shows at once, it was definitely a longer show than usual. And on the way home they were still being let off by all the private parties in the area. Our neighbors across the lake from us must have burnt through 3 thousand dollars worth and it was an incredible show. The girls had a perfect few of it all from their bedroom window, as they tried to go to sleep. About midnight it started getting quiet and we finally went to bed.
